Department of Navy SBIR
Coordinated by the Department of Defense, the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program offers qualified small businesses the opportunity to strengthen their role in the competitive and ground-breaking technology industry. The programs specifically focus on stimulating technology innovation, foster and encourage participation of small business concerns, increase private sector commercialization, and use small businesses to meet Federal research and development needs.
Dual Use Science and Technology Program
The Dust Use Science and Technology (DUST) Program is intended to create a partnership with the technology industry that centers their technology with both military utility and sufficient commercial potential. DUST provides joint funding with the industry to aid development of dual use technology to maintain and create efficient state-of-the-art technologies on the battlefield and for the competitive marketplace.
Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR)
Headquartered in Patuxent River, Maryland, the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) works hand-in-hand in a war fighting partnership with the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) to provide the Navy/Marine Corps continuous support in maritime combat power. NAVAIR allows for innovation in unique engineering, R&D, testing, and evaluation to create superior technologies in airborne weapons systems.
DOD TechMatch
Navy TechMatch is a U.S. Department of Defense program dedicated to providing the solutions in the technology industry as well as the academia community by successfully matching registered users with research and design opportunities from various Federal grant programs. The web-based portal provides information and resources from the support of approximately 41 Navy and Marine Core Labs from around the country.
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR)

U.S. Marine Corps Technology Transition Office

The U.S. Marine Corps Technology Transition Office oversees technology transfers from small businesses into the Department of Defense systems. The SBIR program allows small business to explore their technological potential and an opportunity to become involved in federal R&D to assist the U.S. Marine Corps and have the potential to commercialize in the private sector.
Grants.gov
Grants.Gov is an online resource center for Federal government grants. Partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the goal for the website is to electronically match Federal grants with an applicant’s need for financial assistance. There are approximately twenty-six Federal agencies that offer over 1,000 grant programs that together awards about $400 billion annually in various categories from art, health, education, science and technologies, and many others.

TechLink is the hub that assists the Department of Defense and NASA to pursue a partnership with a private sector companies that focus on cutting-edge technologies. Through the partnerships small businesses may find a wide array of opportunities and resources that are offered through federal assistance such as technology licensing and patents, transfer, and R&D.
SBIR World
Sponsored by the National Science Foundation, SBIR World is the website hub for all SBIR, as well as STTR, programs. The site provides an overview of the two programs, resource links, developing news, FAQs, and updated financial grant opportunities.

The Central Contractor Registration allows start-up company entrepreneurs searching for federal grants to become part of the database. By obtaining an account with CCR, matching federal grants can then contact registered entrepreneurs and provide financial assistance to businesses.
